about

Every year hundreds of firefighters are injured both on and off the job. Some of these injuries are career-ending. Unfortunately, Boynton Beach Fire Rescue Captain Jeff Power knows this too well. On July 7, 2020, Capt. Power and his family were returning from a family vacation in the keys when they were involved in a horrific car accident. Not only was Jeff critically injured, but so was his daughter Kayley. Life-threatening injuries caused Jeff and Kayley to undergo more than three dozen combined surgeries and countless hours of therapy. Thankfully, Jeff has been accepted to the Hanger Clinic near Seattle, Washington, an exclusive and exceptional program that will fit him with a custom-made carbon fiber brace called an EXOSYM.  This highly specialized and one of a kind brace is his next step in returning to active duty.  He will fly to Seattle this September for his fitting and therapy sessions. The 1st Annual Boynton Beach Fire Rescue’s “The Climb” will provide much-needed financial assistance to Jeff and his entire family to obtain the necessary brace and travel expenses.   Please join us in this important event for one of our own who wants nothing more than to return to the job he loves.
